A Perfect Mother's Day and I turned the big 55!

After work on my 55th b'day I went to meet baby Corban! It made my day perfect! Stef and Chris are Corban's God-parents, and soon Jamon and Jessica will be Canon's God-parents! Pam and I are "comadres" for life!

Oh! The love of "abuelo" is just incredible!

What a great day! The weather was so nice, maybe a tad warm, but for Texas, it was very nice... I love spending time with my family! Earlier Marci and I practiced learning how to Salsa dance (from a youtube video), then V.V. came home from the gym and announced that she ran 3 mi. without stopping! Woowhoo! She is planning on running her first 5K next weekend in Coppell. Cousin Cindy cooked her yummy Mexican Beans (with a bit of bacon) and the house smelled so good! Then off we went to Kim (Chris' sister) and Mike's for a BBQ! On the way to their house we stopped at EL Rancho on Fox Ave. in Lewisville and picked up the steak and chicken fajita meat, and a tres leches cake to celebrate the occasion! What a great time we had! The whole Perez family was there, and the whole Blackwell family was there (except Michael, Chris' brother who lives in Chicago)! I was in heaven! Having Baby Canon there made it perfect. La Shai came over too with lil' Jada, who is growing up so fast! She is a beautiful little girl, and we all enjoyed her company! LB/Little Buddy/Baby Michael (Chris' nephew) - poor guy was teething, but it didn't slow him down! We were pretty entertained by him and Jada! I sautéed the onion and Anaheim chile when I got there, but I couldn't get the chile oil off my fingers so I couldn't hold Baby Canon too long, cause I was afraid I would get it on him! :( LAST TIME I CUT CHILE BEFORE I HOLD A BABY! Thank you God for our many blessings we all enjoy with our families together.

We're abuelos (Spanish for grandparents)!

John and I became first time abuelos on Monday 4/26/10! Baby Canon Dominic Blackwell was born at 1:19, he was 7 lbs. 6 oz. and 20 in. long! He is absolutely the most beautiful baby we've ever seen! He has big eyes, a cute tilt to his nose, and a cleft in his chin! He has the longest fingers, long legs, and big feet! We think he's going to be a big guy!
